The Maintenance & Calibration Specialist assists the Process and Maintenance team to assure that the Production Equipment (e.g. synthesis modules, dispensing robots, isolators) and related Utilities (e.g. HVAC, cleanrooms, electrical plants) are working properly by leading and performing preventive and corrective interventions to support the best possible production outcome.

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • Collaborate in order to assure that site equipment is running properly, be responsible for the best performance and reliability of the production equipment, in particular for the synthesis modules, the dispensing robot, CRP, semiautomated lines.
  • Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on Production Equipment according Novartis Standards and Procedures.
  • Triggers and supports the intervention of the suppliers service (for the equipment covered by a service or a contract) in case of potential or declared problems.
  • Manage, and supervise technical maintenance activities carried out by third parties, coordinates the external companies, defines activities calendar.
  • Supports the Production personnel during day/night shift in case of problems on equipment as part of emergency on-call team 24/7.
  • Informs and interacts with the Production Department, the HSE manager/Production Supervisor, about any potential or declared problem, of the ongoing actions and of any change in the problem status (including problem solution).
  • Support the maintenance activities related to utilities and facilities( HVAC system, UPS, Power Generator and others).
  • Checks the equipment stocks of the spare parts and consumables.
  • Uses CMMS for maintenance/calibration management.
  • Collaborates with QA, HSE and Radioprotection Functions to reach and maintain highest safety and quality standards.

Essential requirements:

  • Technical Diploma or University Degree in Engineering.
  • Previous experience within a maintenance department.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Fluent in Italian. Good knowledge of English.

Desirable requirement:

  • Electrical/Automation degree or knowledge.
  • Previous experience within a GMP environment.
